Ewe Lambs

Ewe lambs seem to a favorite part of raising Dorsets. They are feminine, stylish, and have the geneotype to match up with some exciting Rams in the Breed through AI and Natural service.

Contact the Crew as they are always willing to showcase the group in the barns.

Crouch 2402

Sire: Crouch 2112 "Back 40"

Ewe: Dover 1833

Birthdate: 9-3-2023

Blood Test: QR+

The Dover ewe lamb in a split pair was easy to pick out from the beginning. With a fast-growing brother, this girl hit the feed bunk well and has taken off. She is balanced from front to back and holds her own in a great set. Running around the pen on a solid set of feet and legs, she has flexibility that should be a mirror into her productive future.

Crouch 2403

Sire: Crouch 2112 "Back 40"

Ewe: "Jersey" Nichols Sheep Farm 1847

Birthdate: 9-4-2023

Blood Tests: RR

The pair of Jersey and Back 40 stamped out two ewe lambs that combine the best of both. This ewe with her style and look on the side, ignore the cutout job, and levels the topline like a dream. She has bone and mass and might just be the combo sheep in the pair. This girl needs to be shown off, and Taylor plans to do that in Ohio or Illinois but that has not been decided. Come see the sisters and you decide.

Birthdate: 9-4-2023

Blood Tests: RR

Look at this pretty package. She combines the best of the Nichols genetics with our "Pearl" line. Taylor loves this set of twins and believes this one might just end up and be the showgirl in the group. Her square hip and big rib are aspects that the senior Sheppard loved and once she got cut out we were not disappointed.

This girl is flat good - come see this one in the barn.

Crouch 2405

Sire: Quarter Mile Farms "High Octane"

Ewe: Crome Dorsets 2711

Birthdate: 9-4-2023

Blood Tests: RR

2711 hits again with this dramatic ewe. She shows like her half-sister - "Adele" and her 1/2 brothers', the ram that Thomas Vanderventer campaigned all summer long in 2023.  Those two have siblings who racked up the awards over the last two summers, who wouldn't want a stud ewe like 2405. Morgan has her eye on this one, so stop by the barn and check this one out for yourself.

Crouch 2406

Sire: Crouch 2221  "Homeboy"

Ewe: "Rosie" Crouch 2516

Birthdate: 9-6-2023

Blood Tests:

Probably the most athletic ewe lamb we are selling this season, she has the growth, the height of age, and extension at both ends. She handles with the extra length and body that some in our industry get super excited about. We think Homeboy added some attitude and show ring appeal to our lambs and this one is a great example. This one is slated to go to Ohio unless she finds a new address before. She is located in Maroa, but Bayla can talk this one all day.

Crouch 2407

Sire: Crouch 2112  "Back 40"

Ewe: Pope 608

Birthdate: 9-6-2023

Blood Tests:

Back 40 around our place was stamping out ewe lambs in the packages and appearances we like each time. Pairing him up with the Pope ewe was a great choice. This ewe lamb is complete and solid and square at both ends. This girl is a diamond and you will have to come to Maroa to see this one. She handles with confidence and you will not be disappointed.

Crouch 2408

Sire: Crouch 2221  "Homeboy"

Ewe: "Tori" Torrance Sheep Farm 8571

Birthdate: 9-18-2023

Blood Tests:

You get to pick which girl love this one. Tori was one of the first lambs out of "Captain Morgan" - Crouch Ram at Stud at Torrance Sheep Farm. When Delaney paired her with HomeBoy, we got a lamb that has some show attitude, a great hip, and runs uphill all day long. Delaney is going to part with this one, only bc she is learning fast she can't keep them all.  This girl is gorgeous on the handle - see her out in Ohio.

Crouch 2409

Sire: Crouch 2112  "Back 40"

Ewe: Klampe 906

Birthdate: 9-19-2023

Blood Tests:

This girl came off her mom and has not looked back. She has a pretty package, ideal head, cool front end, and great rear leg. Taylor and Morgan agree this girl can stay here and she just might. You will have to come see her to believe this package and get her bought.

Crouch 2411

Sire: Crouch  2112 "Back 40"

Ewe: "Pheonix" Crouch 1913

Birthdate: 10-5-2023

Blood Tests: RR

We hope this one finds a show flock somewhere, building Taylor's Flock has been fun but she can't show them all. This ewe sticks a pose with a big rib, solid structure, and great shoulder junction. Her hip is great and honestly, this one will shine in the ring and breeding barn. Ask about this one with confidence because we believe in this one!

Yearling Ewes

A sweet group of yearling ewes that should be consider for show or breeding. Lets talk adding breeding age pieces to add to your flock

Crouch 2304

Sire: Pine Ridge Buck 15022

Ewe: "Pheonix" Crouch 1913

Birthdate: 9-5-2022

Blood test: RR

She will be the last Pine Ridge daughter that is sold. This guy did work in our flock and paired up with our ewes to make some standouts.

We showcased "Margo" last year on the 2023 sale page, then decided to keep her and run in the Bred and Owned division. She ended up 4th in the Nation and when Phoenix had two more 1/2 sisters the young Sheppard had to make some decisions. Standing 3rd at NAILE Junior show and 2nd in a super deep Illinois State Fair Junior Show behind a 2023 pen mate and ahead of Taylor's Reynold's Ewe lamb. "Margo" has done very well in some tough classes. When your lamb picture gets pulled out against your yearling picture, you know this girl can go the distance. Look for this girl at Ohio.

With a late birthdate, we kept another ewe lamb on chance. Letting her grow was the best thing we could do for her. A Cool package that is just green and will grow all summer and fall for you. We believe in this lamb and welcome any questions. Come look, stay to talk, and evaluate this one.

Ram Lambs

Lambs coming out of this group are big, roughed, and the type we would keep around here if space allowed.

Check them out and call for more pictures,

information, and a chance to handle them.

Yearling Ram

We do not typically keep a Yearling Ram, but with a late birthdate and pretty cool genotypical and phenotypical package, He even got a couple ewes covered, we think this guy could do some good in another flock.

Jeremy only keeps a yearling ram around if he checks some boxes. This guy has the pedigree that made our Shepard think twice and Morgan may have had a little extra leverage. Keeping this guy around and letting him cover a couple of our proven aged ewes, we will get to see just how much good he can do in our flock and yours. Keep this guy in mind if you are looking for size, mass, and some excellent length.
